Thank you, thank you, thank you... to our amazing supporters and Friends Of Curlip. With your generosity and community spirit we raised just over $14,000.00 last Saturday Night 2nd June, 2018.
Not only did we all have a fantastic get together, we were supported by most other Community Not for Profit Groups, the generosity of our business community and local families has been over whelming. THANK YOU.
About the Night?
Our volunteer committee have raised funds over the last 18 months allowing us to move Paddle Steamer Curlip from Marlo to her new permanent home in Paynesville, where we have now removed the Teredo worm damaged hull planks. Total funds expended $90.000.00.
A further $160.000.00 in volunteer labour and assistance in kind, for services and support have been expended thus far.
We are now ready to replank her hull, with new Yellow Stringy Bark timber planks, purchased from our recent fundraiser, “Help us Float our Boat.” We are on target to sell 150 replacement hull planks at $150.00. Our supporters receive a personal commemorative plaque on their plank / time capsule,
membership to P.S.Curlip Inc and an inaugural cruise.
As we are controlled by the Maritime Regulators AMSA, we need to refit the planks with
professional shipwright labour, this Fund raiser is planned to raise the needed funds, including paint antifoul and other needed finishes.
